Family Worship Center recognized the significance of intercessory prayer and the Church's role in providing such a ministry.  We see a great example of this in Acts 12:1-5 which says, "Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.  And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him."

The results of this prayer is divine deliverance, as Peter was delivered from the prison as "the angel of the Lord" came and guided Peter away from the two soldiers guarding him, through the prison, and away to freedom.  There are many people who are in a spirtual and emotional prison that need such a release.  In addition, sickness and mortality exist to remind us we are in theses bodies.

For this, and varied other reasons, the church continues in prayer for these needs.  James 5:15-16 tells us, "And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."  Family Worship Center recognizes the significance of a prayer life including intercessory prayer.

In a time of Israel's apostagy and prophetic warning that judgment would come, God makes the statement in Ezekiel 22:30 that says, "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."  There area great number of individual needs, national needs, and world needs.  Family Worship Center does not want written about the church in America that God looked for a man to make up the hedge and bridge the gap, but He found no one.  Family Worship Center wants to say, "Here am I; send me" (Isa. 6:8).
